Privacy Policy

This notice concerns the current independent editorial website at nbcaugusta.com. It explains information handled through the basic site features and contact form. It does not describe NBC, a former newsroom, or an external website linked from an article.

Contact messages

The contact form asks for a name, email address, subject and message, and asks you to acknowledge this notice. The information is used to receive and respond to the inquiry, assess a correction or address the issue you raise. Do not include sensitive documents, passwords, payment details or information about another person that is unnecessary to your request.

The form sends its contents through WordPress’s mail system to the administrative mailbox configured for the site. The basic-pages plugin does not create a database of message submissions. The mail provider and administrator’s mailbox may retain messages, delivery records and backups under their own settings and handling practices. A successful form response means that the site’s mail system accepted the request, not that a human has read it.

Spam prevention and technical information

The form uses a security token, a spam-trap field and an attempt limit. To apply the limit, it stores a keyed hash derived from the network address together with an attempt count in a temporary WordPress record with a one-hour expiry. The form’s rate-limit record does not store the address in plain text. Expired temporary records can remain in storage until WordPress cleanup runs.

The hosting and mail infrastructure may also process connection information, server logs, network addresses, timestamps and delivery diagnostics for operation and security. Those infrastructure records are separate from the contact form’s temporary counter. Their retention depends on the services and configuration used by the website administrator.

WordPress accounts, comments and cookies

WordPress can use cookies for functions such as administrative login and saved preferences. If comments are enabled, the comment form and the site’s WordPress settings govern the information submitted and any option to save comment details in cookies. Public comments should not contain private information.

The basic-pages plugin does not add analytics cookies, advertising trackers or third-party CAPTCHA services. Other plugins, embedded media or services added to the website can introduce their own data processing. The administrator should update this notice when those features are introduced or changed. Browser settings can help manage cookies, but blocking functional cookies can affect login and other features.

External content and service providers

Following an external link takes you to another provider’s website, where that provider’s notices apply. Loading embedded content can also send information to its provider. A citation in an article is not a guarantee about another site’s privacy practices.

Hosting, email delivery and technical support providers may process information needed to operate the site. Provider systems may be located in different countries. This page does not claim a specific storage country, retention period or contractual arrangement that has not been established by the administrator.

Questions and requests

Use Contact to ask what information connected with your correspondence is held, request a correction or deletion, or raise a privacy concern. Include enough context to identify the relevant message, without sending an identity document through the public form. The administrator may need to verify the request and consider applicable obligations, security needs and retained backups. Not every technical record or third-party copy can be removed through a WordPress edit.

Changes

This notice should be kept aligned with the site’s actual features and service arrangements. Material changes can be reflected by updating this page. Questions about who operates the current editorial project can also be raised through Contact.
