Reading a Slot Paytable: Which Information Matters?
Understand the symbols, features and conditions documented by the product rather than inferring them from artwork.
Begin with the product documentation
A paytable or information panel explains symbols and specified conditions within a game. Its name and layout can differ between products. Use the panel for the version being discussed, rather than a table from another game with similar artwork.
Keep each explanation in context
Descriptions of symbols, combinations and features should be read with their accompanying conditions. A large icon or vivid color does not explain every rule. If an article cites a number, include its source and context. This general guide does not provide payout figures for a particular product.
Rules are not a prediction
Product information helps readers understand how outcomes are interpreted, but does not reveal the sequence of future results. A paytable also serves a different purpose from RTP and volatility or system testing. Related articles explain these concepts so that a document is not mistaken for a promise of an outcome.
